About

Hi, I'm Jeet Sanwal (Jitendra Sanwal). I'm a web developer and blogger, and I built this site.

Why this site exists

It started with a small, annoying problem. I kept needing to check how strong the WiFi was in different parts of my room: which corner was good enough for the desk, and where the signal quietly dropped off. Every single time, that meant downloading an app on my phone. On my desktop there was no simple tool for it at all.

Speed test sites are great at telling you how fast your connection is, but only for the spot you are sitting in. They do not tell you where in your home the WiFi is strong or weak, and that is usually the real question.

So I built the tool I wanted: a website you just open. No sign-up, no install. It tests your speed, and then lets you walk around with your phone and watch the signal quality change from room to room.

What you can do here

  • Speed test: download, upload, ping, ping under load and jitter, with a plain-English verdict.
  • Walk test: walk through your home and see a live score and a colored trail of where the WiFi holds up.
  • WiFi heatmap: tap spots on a floor plan, test each one, and get a color map of a room or floor.
  • Guides: practical articles on signal strength, router placement and fixing dead zones.

How the measurements work

Browsers do not let websites read the raw WiFi signal number your phone uses for its bars. Instead, the tools measure what a weak signal actually does to your connection: slower replies, uneven timing, lost data and lower speed. The full explanation is on the How it works page.

Your privacy

There is no account. Your test results, walk paths and floor plans are stored only in your own browser. Details are in the privacy policy.

Who is behind it

I build websites and web apps, and I write about the things I learn along the way. This project is one of those: a real problem I had, turned into something anyone can use for free. You can see my other work on jeetsanwal.in, and if you have feedback or an idea for a feature, the contact page is the best place to reach me.
